How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering with people means taking the time to build a relationship of support and trust. This means actively listening and learning about goals and desires while also identifying concerns and obstacles. Clearing the path ahead means taking the steps together to solve problems and find long term solutions.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
The most rewarding aspect of this position is seeing and supporting people to live as independently as possible. IRIS allows for self-direction and determination, and finding what best supports the person’s goals and choices in life. It is rewarding to be able to provide guidance and resources for people to achieve these goals.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Beyond my education I have experience as a social worker in the Family Care setting. I also have various direct care experience that has included working with people who have physical and developmental disabilities, as well as those dealing with their mental health. I have collaborated with community resources to address addiction, trauma, housing, food resources, and employment. These various experiences have provided me with a strong resource base to best assist people to maintain their independent living.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I'm avid outdoors lover and I enjoy camping, tubing, hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding. When I am not active, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, video games and experiencing new or local restaurants. I am very family orientated and enjoy visits and time spent with family, as well as cuddling with my dogs and cats.
